Not A Morning Person

It was fairly clear that the Brave Police each had their own wake up routine.
Not surprisingly Deckerd pretty much followed the same schedule as Yuuta. The other Braves rarely, if ever saw Deckerd use his quarters at base.

Duke, of course, was up at the crack of dawn and was often in the office before anyone else. Occasionally he’d linger near the section of the repair bay where the fuel was kept so he would have a chance to try and mingle with his teammates.

When Drill Boy wasn’t trying to be a typical teenager and attempting to sleep until noon, he was being like a younger child and waking up obnoxiously early.

It usually took Dumpson a few minutes to reach full consciousness, until then all responses were uttered in the form of assorted grunts. Power Joe sat roughly in the middle.

It was anyone’s guess as to when Gunmax would wander in and how alert he’d be when he did.

Shadowmaru … there was still some question as to whether the ninja acctualy slept. Power Joe had started a rumor that he did, but he recharged with his optics still powered up. Considering it was their equivalent of a human sleeping with their eyes open it creeped a few of the mechs out. However, no one was willing to ask Shadowmaru if it was true or to sneak into his quarters at night to see for themselves.

But above all there was one unwritten rule that the whole team obeyed without fail: if McCrane was coming off of night patrol you did not wake him up until his alarm went off.

A mistake that Power Joe had made that morning.

“Guys? When can we get down?” Drill Boy asked innocently.

Power Joe readjusted his grip on the rafter beam that he was clinging to, “When McCrane puts his shotgun away.”
